Countdown

The Blazing Swan event will open at noon on 16 April and closes on 22 April.  That’s exactly one month away.  Theme Camps, including ours (Camp Bibliophilia) will be allowed on site from 12 April to set up their structures etc.  Although we work all year round getting ready for the Event, and we’ve been doing this for years, it still gets a bit tense (and frantic) as we get closer to these dates.  Very shortly we’ll be finishing up all our work on our shipping container,  getting it ready to be moved. This will involve screwing steel panels across the front of all the shelves so the contents don’t tip out when the container is moved onto site.  We’ll document – here in our newsletter/website – the final preparations, the move and the unpacking of the container and setting up the Camp.  As always, at this time we wonder why we do this.  But then you remember how much pleasure people get from it.  As long as that keeps on happening, we’ll keep on doing what we do.
