Does it bring you joy?

If not, throw it away.  So goes Marie Kondo’s advice.  A good rule for books, she says, is to keep the ones that bring you joy, but to have ‘no more than thirty’.  We take the view that the ‘Joy’ rule is fair enough, but also that the ‘30’ rule is a bit misguided.  We’d also note that a good THIRD rule is this: If a book brings you joy, gift it to someone else so that it can bring THEM joy.

If you think Marie Kondo’s book, ‘The  Life-Changing Magic of Tidying’ might bring YOU joy, come and pick it up at the Free Library at Blazing Swan.  While you’re at it, have a look at our home-grown ‘Comfy’ by Shannon Lush of ABC Perth Radio fame, and the author/joint-author of a set of books on cleaning and stain removing.
