Tales of tour-guiding in Botswana, and chasing experiences with animals in South America. Allison’s at his best tapping into his gratitude and astonishment at finding himself in the company of wild animals. There’s a lot of that in his first book, and just enough in his second to carry the reader with him. The third has a bit of a ‘milking it’ aspect, but if you’ve read that far you’ve probably an appetite for more stories around the fire. We’ll definitely be presenting these as a ‘set’ at the library at Camp Bibliophilia at Blazing Swan in 2025:
‘Whatever You Do, Don’t Run’ by Peter Allison
‘How to Walk a Puma’ by Peter Allison
‘Don’t Look Behind You!’ by Peter Allison

We’ve also got ‘All the Way Home: Stories from an African Wildlife Sanctuary’ by Bookey Peek. This is the first of four books in the series. We used to have the other three, but they were gifted at Blazing Swan a couple of years ago. Set in Zimbabwe in the Mugabe era, it’s interesting for all sorts of reasons.
