The Bartimaeus Trilogy

If JK is on the nose for her obnoxious views (and you won’t find those  books in our library)  then there’s always been Jonathan Stroud’s much grittier and thoughtful take on a wizarding world. 

It’s pleasing to note that Stroud has gone on to write other (unrelated) successful novels.  Also pleasing to note that he has  never thought it necessary to be a complete arse.
