Art Meets Maths

Here’s 73 of Escher’s extraordinary drawings in one very BIG book.  Just how Art meets mathematics I’ll leave to Wikipedia to explain.  Or you could ask one of our many professional mathematicians to run you through it.  We’ve got all sorts of people at Blazing Swan.

Talking of all sorts… Escher’s father, an engineer, wrote a mathematical formula to find a wife.  History isn’t clear whether he ended up marrying for love or because v = 1/2m + 10.  What is clear though, is that the kid didn’t stand a chance.
